Boat Fit-outs & Re-fits - Formally Scouts Honour
Helen and Jeff approached Fremantle Shipwrights with a full interior re-fit to transform the saloon, outside areas as well as the name. The scope of works was to get the interior of the boat to flow onto the outside area and visa versa. We completely stripped the saloon and re-claimed half of the down stairs second bathroom. This gave us room to install a washing machine and extend the galley area on top of it. A new lounge and seating areas were designed to involve the chef into social conversations from both the interior and exterior. The whole fit out was designed and made on site in our Fremantle sailing club shed. The back decking was installed with a cork deck to give it a softer feel. We also extended the flybridge hardtop to provide enough room and shade for a small party. Lastly, we changed the name to Maria.

We now have an enviable interior and exterior that is so suited to our large family and entertaining our friends. Having lived on the boat for 4 weeks at Christmas time there was nothing I would change and everything worked perfectly. The washing machine was the standout addition for me and the quality of the fit out made us very proud to be entertaining on such a beautiful boat. ( as you are aware i disliked the boat so much I refused to go on it so I now love it!!) Since the fit out interior and exterior we have entertained quite often and the extra space makes all voyages so relaxed and enjoyable. The boat worked magnificently for all the pirates who went to the Abrolhos Islands for ten days and they managed to bring it back without destroying anything!
